Extremely delicious Viognier with the hallmark aromas of apricot and peach, with light floral notes ,and a hint of spice, perhaps ginger. Good texture, yet excellent freshness. Exactly the opposite of what one usually gets for Viognier at this price point.
This is a glorious mouthful. I adore Viognier, and reckon this is the best value we've ever had. The concentration and complexity is wonder to behold. A glass of this delicious wine early evening makes the cares of the day fall away. It's excellent with slightly spicy good, and with smoked trout and salmon, which is so hard to pair with wine. I kept a bottle on the go for well over a week, and it was pretty much as good on day seven as day one, almost concentrating the peach and apricot element.
FROM THE PRESS
“Fairly convincing varietal nose and good, powerful palate. The fruit was definitely ripe enough but there is sufficient acidity too. I wouldn't age this but it's much better than many Languedoc Viogniers.”Jancis Robinson MW
