Tasting Notes
The highest rated English sparkling wine on JancisRobinson.com and DOUBLE WINNER of 'English Sparkling Wine Trophy' - IWSW and 'BEST UK SPARKLING WINE' - Decanter, available in a limited release of magnums. Only 1000 bottled. "Creamy, and initially lightly floral like the blossom of fruit trees, then dominated by a rich autolytic yeasty note and the first signs of honey. On the palate, this is impressively deep and rich. Mouth-filling and yet balanced by great freshness. A powerhouse of finesse, if that is not a contradiction in terms. Almost savoury on the finish thanks to that long lees ageing, ripe yellow fruit flavour balanced by citrusy acidity. Creamy riches, carried by the fine and persistent mousse. Very long. Even better than the 2013 tasted in 75-cl bottle in 2017." 18pts

"Very toasty nose. The barrel ageing has made a huge impact on this wine, nose and palate. It’s rich and spicy, deeply golden in flavour, grilled brioche, golden peaches, satsumas and saffron. It rolls across the tongue like trumpet and drum, silvery notes slipping through old gold, intent, piercing. A very, very sophisticated sparkling wine. Good Value. Drink 2020 – 2027." Tamlyn Currin, Purple Pages, JancisRobinson.com"This is a pivotal wine for Wiston and I am certain that it will shock anyone who tastes it. It is genuinely impressive"Matthew Jukes, MatthewJukes.com 15th April 2020
