Luís Cerdeira was already extremely well set and comfortable in the winemaking world when he made co-founded Vine Vinu with his son Manuel. He had led the Tasting Panel at the Vinho Verde Wine Commission for 22 years as well as operating as head winemaker for Soalheiro, the winery his father had founded. But, the call to start something new, side by side with his freshly-Plumpton-graduated son Manuel, was something he couldn't ignore.
Luís and Manuel's vision was to explore and express the terroir of their home region Vinho Verde, showing the versatility and purity of the Alvarinho grape grown here. You have the 30 years experience and knowledge developed in the region from Luís, paired with the hunger, enthusiasm and fresh, modern winemaking approach from son Manuel. A truly winning combo.
