After making wine for other people for many years, winemaker Chris Darling and viticulturist Bart Arnst teamed up in 2007 to make great wines under their own label.
For them, organics was the only way. Bart is a founding member of Organic Winegrowers of New Zealand, and previously worked for Seresin Vineyards, overseeing their conversion to organics. He left in 2005 to provide a consultant service to those interested in organic change and has worked closely with a large percentage of the New Zealand organic winegrower sector. In fact, his ground-breaking research on the use of Buckwheat as a planting to attract beneficial insects, and thus generate natural pest control which is now widely practiced throughout the wine industry. Originally from Australia, Chris has made wine around the world for many years, and moved to Marlborough in 2003 to make great organic, cool climate wine.
They work with select small and mostly family growers - all certified organic or bioydnamic. All wines are also vegan.
