Tasting Notes
Same beautiful wine but with a damaged label. Very much like a lovely opulent 1er Cru Chablis. The terroir shares very similar characteristics to Chablis 1er Montee de Tonnerre. The Truffiere is a parcel located in the Lieu Dit 'Le Mont Pierreux' the Rocky Hill, near the village of Venoy. Lovely drinkingyet with good energy. Delicious!

From the very good organic Chablis producer, Maupertuis. Founded by Laurent Ternynck as a modest garagiste enterprise in 2002, the domaine’s wines have become firm favourites with Burgundy lovers around the world. The domaine itself is based in the village of Prehy, a short drive south of Chablis. In charge of winemaking is Stéphane Saillet, and a rather tidy CV he has: Domaine Zind-Humbrecht in Alsace and Domaine Viret in the Rhône Valley among the illustrious names he's worked for. Working with Domaine Mauperthuis since 2014, Stéphane takes a ‘less is more’ approach to winemaking: fermentation is with indigenous yeasts and no oenological products are used except a little sulphur after racking and at bottling. Oak use is judicious, with barrels sourced from 10 different coopers and new oak generally kept low.
