Tasting Notes
The 2023 has landed... Made from vines directly next to Pouilly-Fume. Yet again we see such a clean refreshing, cooling, palate, it's on the money. Still giving us all the length we are very used to. Crunchy pineapple, ripe green notes too, just a little of that gun-flint that we like so much about wines from this region. All this bringing us back to that terroir, back to classic Fumé that comes from the chalky and slightly flinty soils here. This is still the wine you would very much hope to find on a trip to Whitstable Bay Oyster Fishery, quenching and delicious.

Made by David Maudry, in Tracy-Sur-Loire, from vines directly next to his Pouilly-Fume vines. It's not what you'd call de-classified Pouilly-Fumé, but perhaps a Pouilly-Fumé that was never classified...That is why this wine is called 'A peu pres', which means almost, or nearly, or, in very old French, 'as good as'.I tried it alongside their Pouilly-Fume and it was almost identical.
