Just Arrived - Kumeu River Chardonnays

We've been fans of Kumeu River Chardonnays for many years. They are widely acknowledged as the best Chardonnay producer in New Zealand. But, more than that, the value is amazing. We've been shipping their wines for many years and have just received the latest vintages.  

We are highlighting the two wines that offer the most incredible value.

It's really hard to beat the Kumeu River Village Chardonnay for quality compared to price. If this was French, for instance Chablis, or a southern Burgundy, it would be £20-24. But this is £13.85! It's good for having in the fridge for when you want a good glass of wine that's not boring and not too expensive. But it's much better than that. It's a Chardonnay that you could serve at a party, and for dinner parties it would match your finest fish course and would be extremely well received. This is classy for the price, and this is the best vintage we've had.

The Estate Chardonnay for £21.90 is unbelievably good quality for the price. Here you're moving into the territory of fine wine, like serious Rully, and it's one that can beat (as it has in previous vintages) Meursault in blind tastings. It's ready to get out of the blocks. So enjoy it now. But you will find there is more to unfurl over the next year or two.
