Lemon oil, melon, and pithy grapefruit. Really easy to love with its weight and roundness and is amazingly food friendly. Bone dry, from 3 superb sits on granitic-limestone soils.

Charles Sparr was put on to us by the Buisson brothers as well as Antoine Gouffier of Domaine du Bouchot. Sparr was one of the big names of Alsace. The brand was sold a few years ago, but the young Charles Sparr clung on to the best vineyards of his family’s estate, and with his wife, Amélie, is making some outstanding wines from them. They're not only organic, but Demeter certified biodynamic too, just like the Buissons and Antoine.
