The top two Barolo's of the 2021 vintage

These two Barolo's came out top of the comune wines of 2021 in a blind tasting of 50 wines with three top sommeliers, and four leading Barolo winemakers. 

- Update - With the Castello del Perno now sold through, we wanted to fill our second Barolo slot with a previous winner of the same Barolo boys title,for the 2020 vintage! We have just 2 dozen left of the stunning Barolo del Comune di la Morra, Agostino Bosco 2020, which can also boast an extra year developing in bottle!!

These wines are so, so good, and show that the golden era for Barolo, both in terms of quality, and value is just starting. 

A lot of the producers that became well known in the last 20 years have made a lot of money but the focus was often on wines or producers for the wrong reasons. Of course, I'm generalising, but it's a very exciting time. The good thing is that people are not yet recognising the serious quality and value of these wines.
