Tasting Notes
It has gorgeous peach notes on the nose, with fine aromas of lime - lots of fresh zest, hints of oyster shell and a lemon syllabub finish. The palate has a bracing tension and zing, while remaining so easy and pleasurable to drink. Very long. This is a superb wine that you can drink casually but is also good if want a smart dinner party white. Lovely with whitebait or a half pint of prawns.
More Info
We found this in an ocean of Spanish wines at a huge wine fair south of Madrid. We tasted hundreds of wines on that occasion, including about 70 Albarinos, and this was the only wine we imported! Crucially, the vineyards are in the Salnes Valley, influenced by the large saline estuary of Ria de Arousa and the weather of the Atlantic ocean. This is the original heart of Galician wine made from Albarino, where you get excellent ripeness balanced by scintillating coastal freshness.
