Tasting Notes
This wine drags you in with its oh-so alluring nose of juicy blackcurrants, dark cherries and currants with a captivating scatter of dried garden herbs, sweet tobacco, very dark chocolate and hint of cedar. Really quite Bordeaux like in a way, but with hints of Saumur-Champigny and Bourgueil in the Loire too. There's a flutter of tomato leaf and gentle herbaceous notes. Bowls of plums on the palate with some chewy, old-fashioned liquorice, juniper and kiss of tar. Lots of bite and dark fruit that's very persistent on the palate. It unfurls beautifully with time open.

Winemaker-negociant Pierre is an energetic and entrepreneurial young man on a mission to shine light on many of the over-looked vineyards close to his hometown. He seeks out interesting plots of vines and growers who prioritise ecologically responsible farming and keeps winemaking simple, without fancy designer yeasts or new oak in his downtown cellar in the historic city of Carcassonne. We love his wines for their authenticity, honesty and how very delicious they are.
