Good value Margaux is not so easy to come by, but the 2019 from Chateau Mille Roses is certainly the embodiment of that. All the bursting florality and soft, wispiness you’d want and expect are here in spades – especially after a little decanting – and the tannins are absolutely draped in fruit! Sheer enjoyment here.

Located between notable estates Chateau Cantemerle and Giscours, Mille Roses was inherited by David in 1999 on the premature death of his parents. At the beginning, they had just 0.5 ha of vines, and with his wife Sophie, they renovated and expanded the estate, which now totals 10ha under vine, certified organic. He named the estate Mille Roses in honour of his mother's passion for roses. They offer beautiful, honest wines from Margaux and Haut-médoc appelations and believe that a rich and well-balanced wine with a personal identity comes first and foremost from its terroir.
