Tasting Notes
A lovely Pinot Noir that will go with a wide variety of food. Made by Tom Carson of Yabby Lake, who has been awarded for quality Pinot Noirs (and Chardonnays) probably more than any other Australian winemaker. He was the producer behind the first Pinot Noir to win Oz's top wine prize in 2013, the coveted Jimmy Watson trophy.
More Info
Distant Noises is Tom's (Yabby Lake Winemaker) own winemaking project - and it has got us rubbing our thighs and slavvering like feral beasts in anticipation. The fruit is sourced from Yarra, and the winemaking is as sensitive, precise, assured as befits Tom's name. The real beauty of Distant Noises though? It's the price! Tom has set himself the challenge of making premium Mornington Peninsula wine at a price that you rarely see for wines from this region. Why, in this venal old world, would he do that? Because he wants to. He's achieved pretty much everything else there is to achieve in wine. He's reached the summit several times over. Distant Noises is his chance to do that rare thing of making a cracking wine that is accessible to many, that gives as many people as possible the pleasure of the wines he makes.
