"The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Vaucrains 1er Cru, the last Premier Cru to be served from barrel, has the finest nose: mineral-rich black and red fruit with exquisite detail. The most precise of Chevillon's Premier Crus. The medium-bodied palate offers ripe red fruit laced with marmalade and blood orange. The vines of Domaine Robert Chevillon are nestled right in the heart of Nuit-Saint-Georges and over the past 100 years or so, they've been adding 1er Cru vines to their collection, row by row. These wines are the product of terroir-knowledge and hard, hands-on, work. It is a great compliment to them both that their wines are so balanced yet still maintain the individuality and character that emanates from their terroir.
