Versatile, easy-going, enjoyable and affordable! What more would you want from a Spanish Tempranillo. “Flaco” translates to "Dude" in Madrid slag - it's everybody's friend, a real crowd-pleaser. Coming from up and coming wine region DO Vinos de Madrid, it's luscious and softly textured, packed full of ripe red berry fruit, with a savoury touch to give balance and interest.

Produced outside Madrid at high altitude on granitic sand and limestone clay, it's the perfect environment for growing Tempranillo in a balanced way so it doesn't become too ripe and and hot. The grapes are hand-tended from low-yielding estate-owned vineyards (31 ha/hl average) and showcase balance, concentration and freshness. Flaco has an impressive pedigree, yet it is a classic Swig wine that punches above its weight.

“Brilliant ruby-red. A highly perfumed nose evokes ripe red berries and floral pastilles, and a hint of white pepper lends a spicy touch. Plush, seamless and gently sweet, offering raspberry and cherry compote flavors that become more energetic on the back half. Emphatically fruity and supple in texture, finishing with just a hint of smooth, harmonious tannins. This fruit-driven, very appealing wine offers superb value.”
