Château de Durfort produces one of our all-time best-selling wines, a Corbières whose price to quality ratio amazes us with every passing vintage. Durfort is a label of one of France’s more interesting cooperatives, the Celliers des Demoiselles, which was founded by women duringWorldWarI in order to ensure that winemaking kept going in the absence of the adult male part of the population. Fruit is sourced from vines that surround the eponymous château, with 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache. Durfort has long been aSwig staff favourite, offering depth and richness that belies its price. The schist soils give an electric mineral undercurrent thatruns through to the finish.
