Taaibosch is a relatively new project, but on that is incredibly inspired by the history and legacy of viticulture up in the Helderberg. Describing the project as custodianship not ownership and the purpose is as much about safeguarding the terroir and supporting the local environment as it is about winemaking. Fortunately those things do positively link, so this diligent, conscious and minimal intervention approach is producing fabulous wine.

The latest in a superb, if short, run of releases from this revitalised Helderberg property, it's a structured, well-balanced assemblage of Cabernet Franc, 31% Merlot and 17% Cabernet Sauvignon. Leafy, focused and chiselled, with herbal undertones, sinewy tannins, subtle 30% new wood and flavours of black cherry, cranberry and dill. 2027-38”
