Tasting Notes
All the vineyards are within 800 m of the winery in the ‘cru’ vineyards of Roggeri, San Biagio, Bertolotti, Capalot and Galina. The grapes are harvested in the cool of the morning, then undergo a cold maceration followed by fermentation without any stems.Pale garnet. Very subtle, appetising aroma. Already approachable with light, smoky char and a bone-dry finish. Delicate and lots of fun! Jancis Robinson
More Info
Alberto Alessandria is the eight generation owner and winemaker at Crissante Alessandria, a charming family owned winery in the hamlet of Santa Maria, near La Morra. The family previously sold all of their grapes to large cellars in the local area, and began producing their own wines in the late 50s. Alberto took over the estate a few years ago and has been working quietly to improve the wines. Their 6a ha of vines are all within 80m of the winery, including sites in the prime communes of Capalot, Roggeri and Galina.
