100% Sangiovese, this rather seductive, layered Tuscan gem is pure elegance. It's in highest tier of Chianti quality. Absolutely beautiful. It feels a bit like Soldera. With 14 months in French barriques, and the time and dedication this fine wine has received only lends to its opulence and refinement. Sensational and such tiny amounts produced.

Located in the highest part of the Cigliano area, Cigliano di Sopra is a historic estate dating back to 1300, now in the capable hands of dynmaic friends Matteo Vaccari and Maddalena Fucile. Prior to taking the reins at Cigliano di Sopra, Matteo and Maddalena worked alongside Sashi Moorman and Rajat Parr at Evening Land, Sandhi, and Domaine de la Côte. Even Monica Larner of the Wine Advocate likes Cigliano – “The most exciting discovery I recently made in Chianti Classico is Cigliano di Sopra, located in San Casciano Val di Pesa. The winery is run by two young friends, Maddalena Fucile and Matteo Vaccari.
