Tasting Notes
"The 2022 Rosso Contrada Biordi wafts up with a perfumed blend of Lavander, sweet smoke and crushed blueberries. It's silky and round with juicy acidity and vividly ripe wild berry fruits, all offset by tactile tinge of minerality. The 2022 finishes staining and long, just gentle tannic. A black tea- like dryness coats the palate without slowing its momentum. This is a highly pleasurable yet wonderfully balanced Marche Rosso. It's a blend of 70 % Sangiovese and 30% Montepulciano." Contrada Contro is Andrea Polidoro's own project, separate from his work with the great Cupano in Brunello. From a field blend old vines in the Monte Sibbilini of Marche where his grandfather came from. This pays hommage to the ancient tradition of winemaking here.
