A discounted half dozen displaying the beautiful Cabernet based work carried out by our dear friend, Chris Keet Jr. Featuring 3x Climes Cabernet Franc 2022 & 3x Flight Farm Cabernet Franc 2023.
Flight Farm, Elgin, is a major component of his Chris's blended Cab Franc, 'Climes' I'm thrilled its getting a chance to shine by itself as well, in this delicious single vineyard wine. And its particularly interesting to be able to show it alongside the full blend, Climes. Chris is such a strong blender, that comparing the two really highlights the difference in terroir between his sites.
It's thanks to Alex Starey of Keermont estate that we had the introduction to up-and-coming young winemaker, Chris Keet Jnr of Weather Report. Whilst his day job sees him working at Bot River Gabrielskloof estate, Weather Report is his small-production own label, so far solely exploring Cabernet Franc from a handful of tiny sites across the Western Cape. Wine positively flows in Chris' veins. His uncle is Chris Keet of Keet wines, formerly winemaker at former SA icon, Cordoba. He made the 1995 vintage of their Crescendo, one of South Africa's first cult wines.
