The Riserva, with the extreme care taken in the winery and the bottle age it boasts, really takes Cedro to the next level. Small, French Barriques are used for the maturation of Sangiovese and Merlot parcels, allowing for lovely fruit/oak integration. The vineyard, one of the best in Rufina, plays a big part here. Emphasis of brighter fruit and herbaceous spice to partner the oak and maturity. A wine in its absolute prime. The tangy cherry, ripe plum and sweet spice has softened and mellowed, accompanied now by subtle chocolate, leather and tobacco licks. Acidity and structure retaining its spirit, properly decanted, this is the complete package. A super Gastro wine, this is a pair for your rich pasta dishes and roasted Beef.
