After a formative decade learning and training across the world, notably his final leg spent at La Montille in Burgundy, Giacomo Baraldo returned home to the slopes of Monte Cetona in Southern Tuscany, bordering Umbria, FULL of big ideas. Inspired by those who'd mentored him and armed with exceptional vine cuttings from his Burgundian friends, he soon began planting. 

His young Chardonnay vineyard is set upon previously unplanted slopes, which considering how perfect the terroir is for vines and the wine he is producing, looks to be a centuries of historical oversight. Chardonnay project that really gripped us. We were hooked by his second vintage of l’Affacciatoio, the 2021, which lived long in the team's memory. This new 2023 vintage has arrived and is absolutely shining.
