Tasting Notes
A big red that envelops the senses with soft, sumptuous black fruits and a gentle woody spice from the 18 months in oak. The base of this gorgeous Southern French blend is Mouvedre with small additions of Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan and Syrah from vines averaging 45 years old. A beauty from an iconic winery that will lay down nicely for 15 to 20 years.
More Info
Domaine Tempier's reputation is arguably more well known than the Bandol appellation itself. The estate was founded back in the 1940s by Lucie Tempiers and Lucien Peyraud who made it their mission to put Bandol on the map for age worthy wines that could compete with the top wines of the Rhone and Bordeaux, celebrating the deep, rich varietal of Mouvedre which Bandol is famous for. Under the direction of Daniel Ravier since 1999 the wines are getting better and better and are a must have for the collector.
