A half dozen of the fabulous 2019 Chateau La Cardonne - On offer for a dozen, £24 per bottle.
2019, Robin's pick from a great range of vintages in the Library stock, though he'll likely be back for others in future! A really nice display of classic Bordeaux, subtle and complex, that still has a lovely, generous fruit character to it. It has flesh and richness, but structure and that old-school Claret feel to it. Plums, berry fruit and dashes of cedar and spice from subtle oak use makes this feel extremely fine and sophisticated.

We first noticed them in a broad 2023 Cru Bourgeois tasting, impressed with their young release. It was upon researching them a little further we discovered their crazy pedigree and exciting future. Not many Medoc estates can say they have recent involvement with Lafite Rothschild, Lynch-Bages and soon Chateau Margaux. We're interested that three Bordeaux luminaries have wanted to work here, leaving their famous Chateaux behind. It speaks volumes for the quality of the terroir and what they think is achievable.
