The second wine of Chateau Potensac, a Cru Bourgeois that consistently impresses with its power and concentration. The estate benefits from the winning combination of expert winemaking and superb location. It is owned by the Delon family who are best known for their super-second powerhouse, Léoville-Las-Cases and sits in a northerly position on excellent gravelly-clay soils on the Potensac plateau. Its 40 hectares of vineyards extend over hilly mounds and there are several old-vine parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc which are up to 80 years old.

A blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. This 2018 offers a ripe, very expressive fruit and a particularly velvety tannic structure. Elegant, luscious and fresh, with intense aromas of black fruit, this is a truly great vintage that has taken advantage of the exceptionally favourable weather conditions. Medium-deep garnet with some purple with aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, cedar and herbs. There is freshness and elegance on the palate with dark fruit and spice flavours. 2018 is a great vintage that is drinking very nicely now, and is a really nice balance between riper, warmer vintages (like 2016 or 2020), but still with grace and freshness of more classic years of the past.
