Tasting Notes
Alcide makes just under 600 bottles of this Aligote, sourcing the fruit from Haut Cote de Beaune. We are thrilled to get our hands on any at all. On the sun-drenched, stony soils of La Rochepot, this Aligoté reveals the power of the limestone. The nose evokes damp chalk, green apple, and a hint of iodine. On the palate, the wine combines density and purity: a full body, taut with chiselled acidity. The long, saline finish leaves an impression of precision and clarity. A living, vibrant wine with a strong character, showcasing the full nobility of the grape variety when it encounters a great terroir. Aging in Oak and battonage throughout winter adds an extra dimension to this thrilling Aligote.
More Info
The story of La Terre des Tilles is an exciting one. A short one, too! Founded in just 2022, Alcide Perrin is the bright eyed chap looking to transform a region once huge in Burgundian wine production (since the Romans) that never really recovered from Phylloxera. Alcide wants to bring winemaking back to this area, and established his Domaine here to start the revolution. He planted his first vines just this year (a tiny 0.25ha plot to begin, with plans to reach 3ha). So since the Domaine's founding and for the next few years, he is bringing fruit in from growers he likes and knows, who farm the way he does, organically and biodynamically. He likes to stay fairly hands off in the winery, with slow presses, indigenous yeasts and long elevage in barrel.
