Tasting Notes
94 points - 'Morello cherries, wild berries, hints of dried roses, prune, eucalyptus and Mediterranean scrub aromas introduce a rich, generous, darkly fruited wine with cedar, vanilla and herbal notes. Robust but ripe tannins, a savoury freshness, and a long and persistent finish balance the generously fruity and spicy character. Giuseppe Sedilesu was the first producer to start under his own name in Mamoiada in 2001, and this wine is the symbol of the region's wine renaissance. Matured in large oak barrels for approximately 12 months.' Tasted by Åsa Johansson, Decanter.com, September 2023

Giuseppe and his wife Grazia planted their first hectare of vines over 30 years ago and while Giuseppe still works on the farm, his son, also named Giuseppe, is the winemaker. The winery is in Mamoiada, a small Sardinian village situated in the heart of the Barbagia. The farm has 15 hectares under vine, mainly Cannonau (the same grape as Grenache) trained as bush vines and farmed organically. The care this family have for the land and their commitment to quality ensures pure and authentic wines which perfectly represent Sardinia.
