Tasting Notes
An exceptionally deep and full Riesling, Marcobrunn GG (Grand Cru), is just outside Hallgarten, and appeared on labels as early as 1726, and was visited by many famous admirers including Thomas Jefferson, and the influential poet and novelist, Theodor Fontane, who wrote "It's wonderful how much the heart can endure when one can counter each blow with a bottle of Marcobrunn". There is no doubt this is very special wine. You get the sense when sipping it that it's rather like full white burgundy, although made from Riesling.
