"Berene Sauls’ story is inspirational. I remember being introduced at Hamilton Russell in 2015, when she was learning the ropes from Anthony Hamilton Russell and his team. She has gone on to prove her preternatural winemaking talent and oversees one of the finest Pinot Noirs in the Cape. Her 2024 Pinot Noir utilises 10% whole clusters to great effect—I could slip it into a lineup of Burgundies and fool a few know-it-alls. The Chardonnay makes a fine companion.
