Tasting Notes
2019 is a superb vintage for Monte Santoccio Amarone. Warm, gorgeous, with fine bitter sweet aromatics that define Monte Santoccio and Quintarelli. Chocolate dipped cherries, pot pourri, kirsch and sweet balsam-y herbs, soft leather, cherry blossom and Christmas spice. Long and quite lush, with sweet scents of tobacco drying in a kiln house. 3 months drying of grapes, 30 months in tonneaux.
More Info
Formerly an assistant to the legendary Valpolicella producer Giuseppe Quintarelli, Nicola Ferrari and his wife Laura now make their wines from 7ha of organically farmed vines in Fumane. The wines are nothing short of sensational. Each of these red wines is made from approximately 70% Corvina and Corvinone and then 30% of Rondinella and Molinara.
