This is so enjoyable and I recommend it very highly as a well-priced, but good quality alternative to Champagne. The roundness of fruit and purity is genuinely superb, and I think it's hard to get a better, more enjoyable glass of fizz for this price.
It comes from a producer that cares a great deal about the grapes. Michel Bedouet went organic quite a few years ago. For the first years, it meant a reduction in yields, but the soil has come back to life, and it shows in the wines. They are all excellent.
FROM THE PRESS
“'This is a fantastic find and it sums up just how interesting and rewarding cleverly-chosen, sparkling wine styles are in France, outside of the citadel of Champagne. This 100% Chardonnay is silky, creamy, pinpoint accurate and incredibly good value. Served blind, I am certain that most people would say it is a Blanc de Blancs Champagne, but no - it is from the gorgeous Loire Valley! A beautiful, seamless aperitif, this is the wine to get your juices flowing in preparation for a fabulous feast.' ”Matthew Jukes
