Tasting Notes
Mullineux Olerasay No. 1 is a rare, non-vintage solera-style sweet straw wine made from 100% old-vine Chenin Blanc in Swartland, South Africa, by winemakers Chris and Andrea Mullineux. Packaged in a 37.5cl half-bottle, it features rich aromas of dried peaches, honey, and marmalade.

Founding members of the Swartland Revolution, four times winner Platter Guide Winery of the Year, and The Wine Enthusiast's Winemaker of the Year 2016, Chris and Andrea Mullineux are one serious power couple. Based just outside of Riebeek Kasteel on their farm Roundstone, their ambition is bottle wines that are a true expression of the Swartland. Its granite, schist and iron soils, its wind swept sites, old vines, hot climate and long, dry Summers. With Chris in charge of the vineyards and viticulture, and Andrea at the helm in the cellar, it has been a joy to see the incredible quality coming out of the estate year on year. Are there any more talented duos in South Africa? I don't think anyone would question it.
