Tasting Notes
With that signature dark violet perfume of fine Swartland Syrah and firm structure for long ageing, Chris and Andrea consider this to be one of their favourite releases to date. "... sourced from the Swartland's three main soil types, this has lovely fynbos and clove aromas, some stemmy notes from 80% whole bunches, blackberry, cooked meat and tapenade flavours and impressive depth and density. More Info
Founding members of the Swartland Revolution, five times winner Platter Guide Winery of the Year, and The Wine Enthusiast's Winemaker of the Year 2016, Chris and Andrea Mullineux are one serious power couple. Based just outside of Riebeek Kasteel on their farm Roundstone, their ambition is bottle wines that are a true expression of the Swartland. Its granite, schist and iron soils, its wind swept sites, old vines, hot climate and long, dry Summers. With Chris in charge of the vineyards and viticulture, and Andrea at the helm in the cellar, it has been a joy to see the incredible quality coming out of the estate year on year. Are there any more talented duos in South Africa? I don't think anyone would question it.
