A brilliant wine - so vivid and brimming with mango and papaya and fresh roses. Very intense, and with quite a rich, unctuous mouthfeel, but deftly balanced, with some spice, sea-splashed stones and hoppy notes too. No added SO2 - amphora fermented and aged blend of 50% Pinot Gris, 40% Gewurztraminer and 10% Riesling. Imogen opened a bottle of the 2016 in early 2023 and it was astonishingly good.
Vignoble du Reveur is the new project of Marcel Deiss, the famous Alsatian estate, now run by Mathieu Deiss and Emmanuelle Milan. Working biodynamically from the start, it is the work of craftsmanship; everything is made by hand with the greatest respect of their terroir.
FROM THE PRESS
“Heady and intense, with a wonderful fine texture and lightness of being, this dry orange wine streams bergamot, honeysuckle, wax, ash, and ample broken stoney salts long on the palate, finishing with a lingering honeysuckle and saline wash on a warming finish (15% is felt). Quite a profound wine. 93 points.”Treve Ring, Gismondion Wine
