About this Wine
Lovely colour – ruby-rimmed, deepening at the core with a brightness and translucency that could only be brilliant Pinot Noir. The nose cannot be kept in the glass. Ripe cranberries and both ripe and sour cherries burst forth with notes of leafy herbs, forest floor, earth and the barest touch of balsamic. It’s a compelling combination of bright fruit and savoury tones that’s heady in such a way as to be transportative (there’s some dissention as to whether that’s a word – ed).
Where does it take you? Somewhere lovely, and sort of like Burgundy, but with better weather and Australians. It also takes the glass to your list. And you’re delighted that it does. Those illuminated fruits from the nose take you aback with their crunchy freshness and juiciness on the palate. Beautifully integrated and textured savoury tannins of suede and satin keep your mouth delighted rather than overwhelmed. It’s quite something to be invigorated and then caressed so gently for such a long and decadent finish.
