These two seriously good finds - Chateau Maillet, Pomerol (neighbour of Petrus) and Chateau Rocher-Gardat, just a few minutes drive away -  come from a family which have been involved in wine in this area of Bordeaux since the 1820s, but around 12 years ago they took the step of hiring the an internationally renowned winemaker of famous Chateau Angelus, Hubert de Bouard.
